Laura DeAngelis

When I think of a woman who selflessly lifts up other women and who inspires, it is Laura DeAngelis.
As just as one example, Laura is a huge supporter of women fighting breast cancer. She fought alongside her mother who thankfully is a survivor, and then later fought alongside her close childhood friend who sadly lost her battle with cancer at the age of 43. When she passed, she left behind a twin brother with special needs and Laura and several high school friends wanted to shower him with love the way his sister always did. Joining a group started by the family called "Team Gene," Laura and her buddies spend time with Gene in lots of fun outings including bowling and billiards.
Between 2014 and 2016, Laura walked a total of 157.2 miles and raised more than $20,000 as part of the annual "Avon 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer. "(She and a few other walkers were even chosen to appear in a 2017 episode of "Project Runway" to inspire designers for the "Warrior Challenge!") After Avon shifted gears to partner with the American Cancer Society in 2018, she joined her first Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Central Park and will continue to look for active ways to raise money and awareness for the disease.
Beyond this, Laura is a huge advocate for women's health in general. A lifelong exercise enthusiast and certified fitness trainer, she launched her blog LauraLovesFitness.com in 2011. Each week, she tries to help people find ways to feel their best regardless of their age or fitness level.
All of this is on top of Laura’s work in the media industry as a host and producer, and her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Many people give what is left of their time and energy to others, but Laura gives first to others and finds her joy by lifting others up. On behalf of all those touched by Laura’s kindness, encouragement, generosity and loyalty - we thank you!
